Volunteers from Slots City won in the “Company Culture” category of the HR Brand Ukraine 2023 awards
The volunteers from Slots City company, who have come together to form a corporate foundation, achieved victory in the “Company’s Cultural Code” category at the HR Brand Ukraine 2023 awards.
In this category, an independent jury evaluated projects related to transforming the corporate culture and implementing values in the company’s life and team interaction. The volunteers from Slots City presented their experience in teamwork, building effective partnerships, and friendships in the case study “Free People/Chance for Victory.”
The HR Brand Ukraine award is an annual independent and authoritative award recognizing the best HR practices and innovative solutions. This year’s winners were Ukrainian companies that presented their best HR cases in various categories during the competition.
“For me, and for our entire team, such a professional award is extremely important,” noted Stanislav Andreev, CMO of Slots City and an active volunteer of the corporate foundation. “Our volunteers work around the clock, and this recognition is not only a matter of professional pride for them, but also an additional motivation to help the army and work tirelessly for victory,” he added.
The Foundation began its active work at the start of the full-scale invasion when the team joined efforts to assist the country. Until February 24, the Foundation was engaged in environmental projects and even entered the Ukrainian Guinness Book of Records as one of a million participants in the international campaign to plant a million trees in a day. “The initial contribution was a million hryvnias, which we transferred to the ‘Come Back Alive’ Foundation for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then, the volunteers from our call center started assisting in coordination and delivery of humanitarian aid, and later we began providing support to displaced persons,” Stanislav explained during the project presentation.
In the spring of 2022, volunteers realized they couldn’t work in an ad hoc manner, so they organized their work and identified priority areas: assisting the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, providing medical aid to servicemen, drone programs, and humanitarian aid for displaced persons. The Foundation’s work was joined on a volunteer basis not only by company employees, but also by contractors and representatives of outsourcing companies. Volunteers created a website for assistance requests and reports on its provision. Currently, all the activities of the foundation (application collection, procurement funding, transfers to military personnel, medics, and displaced persons) are carried out through the contributions of employee-volunteers and friends of company employees.
According to an internal employee survey, 96% of the team is motivated by volunteering and the fact that their work allows them to help the country. Every fourth employee is currently involved in the foundation’s work, and every fifth plans to join. Awareness of the foundation’s work in the team is at a hundred percent.
“Volunteer work, in addition to the Foundation’s contribution to Victory’s approach, has added strength and resilience to our team, becoming an important part of our corporate culture and an extension of our responsible business principles. We are constantly expanding the Foundation’s activities, opening new assistance programs. Recently, we started financing the repair of drones for the army, purchased a radar system for Chernihiv, and systematically assist the army and displaced persons,” Stanislav added.
In September, the total amount of assistance from the foundation’s volunteers exceeded 90 million hryvnias, and the weight of humanitarian aid transfers alone reached 22 thousand kilograms. The Foundation not only purchases equipment and gear for the needs of the army, buys and repairs drones for the military, but also helps hospitals with the treatment of fighters.
