John* made his choice when he saw the news about the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine.
Despite his high military rank, the he joined the defenders of Ukraine as an ordinary private to defend the democratic values of the Western world. After arriving from the United States of America, John joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of the International Legion, which has thousands of volunteers from all over the world.
The legionnaire holds a very valuable post, he is a helicopter pilot. John’s experience, among other combat helicopters, includes piloting the AH-64 Apache, which he flew on numerous missions during his military career.
Now his skill was complemented by the ability to control a drone. The UA Drone School, supported by the Slots City Foundation, provided free drone training to the unit where John serves.
Currently, 20 military personnel are taking courses at the UA Drone School and over 700 drone operators have already successfully completed their training.
UA Drone School is a project of the public organization “Advanced Defense”, which was launched in April 2022, in response to the challenges of Russian aggression against Ukraine. UA Drone School is part of the state project “Drone Army”.
Over the past year, volunteers of the Slots City Foundation have delivered more than 100 items to the front, including 19 drones, 30 units of vehicle, in particular trucks, thermal imagers, generators, as well as other equipment and clothing for fighters. Since January, the Fund has started a new direction – this is the aid to the School of Drones.
