Slots City Foundation Humanitarian Aid in August: 3.5 Tons of Supplies, Medical Equipment, Wheelchairs, and Hospital Beds
In August, Slots City Foundation volunteers delivered over 3.5 tons of humanitarian aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and residents of communities affected by shelling. In addition, the Foundation provided doctors with medications, medical equipment, Starlink devices, medical carts, and hospital beds. Specifically, the volunteers packed over 150 parcels of humanitarian aid, totaling 3,750 kg, for those who were forced to leave their homes due to the shelling, as well as for residents of communities located near combat zones.
The Regional Hospital of Intensive Care in Mariupol, now relocated to Kyiv, received a series of surgical instruments from the Foundation. The capital’s St. Mykhailo’s Clinical Hospital (formerly Oleksandrivska) received medical consumables, medications, hospital beds and instruments, as well as clothing for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
In the last month of summer, the volunteers purchased two Starlink systems for medical staff, wheelchairs for people with disabilities, and participated in a series of charitable initiatives and collaborations with partners—charitable foundations and civic organizations.
“Humanitarian and medical aid is the foundation of our project “Free People: Help,” says Artem Stogniy, director of Slots City Foundation. “Over the past year, our volunteers have established a systematic approach to helping several Kyiv and regional hospitals. This works through requests: doctors contact the Foundation with a list of necessary supplies or equipment, volunteers purchase and deliver everything needed, allowing medical professionals to continue their work without interruption.”
In addition to the Regional Hospital of Intensive Care in Mariupol (now in Kyiv) and St. Mykhailo’s Clinical Hospital (formerly Oleksandrivska) in Kyiv, the Foundation also supports the doctors at Tarutyn Central Hospital in the Odesa region, the Institute of Traumatology in Kropyvnytskyi, City Hospital No. 5 in Mykolaiv, Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro, and other medical institutions.
“Free People: Help” is one of six projects run by Slots City Foundation, which has been developing charitable initiatives since 2021. The Foundation’s volunteers assist people in difficult situations, provide humanitarian aid to IDPs and those living in active combat zones, help doctors with medicines and equipment, and support families who have lost their homes.
