Volunteers from the Slots City Foundation are undertaking a special mission this time. At the request of the community in the town of Bilozerske, Pokrovske district, Donetsk Oblast, they are helping to provide local residents with clean drinking water – organizing the delivery of 60 tons of drinking water.
“Friends, right now we’re loading the first truck with a capacity of 20 tons… I want to thank you for your compassion and the immediate decision-making in this matter,” says the volunteer in the video. While he records a video report at the warehouse in Dnipro, the water is being loaded onto the truck by special machines. In total, there will be three such trucks, each going to Donetsk Oblast one per week. One has already been sent, the second is getting ready, and the third is still ahead.
The water problem in Bilozerske arose due to military actions: the Karlivske reservoir was blown up, and the local filtration station was damaged by shelling. 350,000 residents in the territorial communities of Selidivska, Pokrovska, Novogrodivska, and Myrnogradska were left without water supply. People receive water on a schedule, in very small amounts. The water received from our volunteers will be used to meet the most critical needs – in hospitals, schools, and bomb shelters.
