Humanitarian Aid for Bilozerske: Volunteers Provided Food, Lanterns, Walkers
Volunteers from Slots City Foundation, at the request of the community in Bilozerske, Pokrovsky District of Donetsk Oblast, organized the delivery of food, lanterns, crutches, and walkers for socially vulnerable groups in the town.
The head of the Bilozerske City Military Administration, Serhiy Makieyev, welcomed the humanitarian cargo from the Slots City Foundation and its partners. Products, lanterns, anti-decubitus mattresses, crutches, walkers, and rehabilitation wheelchairs were delivered to people with disabilities. In his gratitude to the volunteers, the head of the military administration emphasized the Foundation’s active involvement in providing humanitarian aid to socially vulnerable groups in the community.
“While the Foundation’s main focus is on assisting the army, humanitarian projects like helping a town affected by combat have become a systemic part of our work,” said the head of the Foundation, Artem Stohniy. “This year, we provided aid to those affected by shelling in Bila Tserkva and Uman. Typically, our ‘humanitarian missions’ work with those who have nowhere else to turn for help: those who, due to war, have lost their homes, often – and clothing, food, and medical supplies. Our volunteers take care of displaced persons, residents of de-occupied territories, and keep in touch with those in hospitals,” he added.
The total weight of humanitarian aid collected by Foundation volunteers since March 2022 exceeds 22,000 kg. They have processed 5,268 applications from displaced persons and victims of attacks. In addition to humanitarian deliveries, the Foundation purchases equipment and gear for the needs of the army, buys and repairs drones for the military, and assists hospitals with medical supplies for soldiers. In September alone, volunteers raised over 20 million UAH for assistance, and in total, since the Foundation’s inception, this amount has exceeded 90 million UAH.
