In July, volunteers from Slots City Foundation, as part of the “Free People: Help” project, delivered over 100 humanitarian aid packages to internally displaced persons, with a total weight of 2,500 kg. The foundation provided transport and logistical assistance to medical professionals and purchased medical supplies for the Regional Hospital of Intensive Care in Mariupol (now located in Kyiv), the capital’s St. Mykhailo’s Clinical Hospital (formerly Oleksandrivska), Feofania Clinical Hospital, and several regional hospitals.
“Since last month, we have significantly expanded the ‘Free People: Help’ project,” says Artem Stogniy, director of Slots City Foundation. “Our volunteers are now more actively assisting displaced people with their humanitarian aid requests. This summer, we also systematized our support for hospitals, starting to work with regional medical professionals through the same programs we previously ran only in the capital, including providing medical consumables, replacing and repairing priority equipment, and handling the logistics of humanitarian aid.”
In particular, in July, the volunteers purchased hemostatic sponges for the Institute of Traumatology in Kropyvnytskyi, City Hospital No. 5 in Mykolaiv, and Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro. Additionally, the foundation purchased a generator and two EcoFlow charging stations for medical professionals.
Besides surgical sutures for the trauma department of St. Michael’s Clinical Hospital in Kyiv, the volunteers also procured a unified sanitary-technical tent, allowing doctors and rescuers to conduct joint training on organizing emergency medical aid for victims affected by chemical, biological, and radioactive agents (weapons of mass destruction). Slots City Foundation also upgraded the electrical network in the urology intensive care unit of St. Michael’s Clinical Hospital.
In July, volunteers also purchased drinking water, construction bags, and protective gloves for rescuers and victims of the missile strike at Ohmatdyt, as well as for residents affected by the attack on Shcherbakova and Ushynskoho streets (Kyiv).
“Free People: Help” is one of six projects of the Slots City Foundation, which has been developing charitable initiatives since 2021. The foundation’s volunteers assist people in difficult circumstances, provide humanitarian aid to displaced persons and those living in active combat zones, support medical professionals with medicines and equipment, and help families who have lost their homes.
